Flagship Management is currently looking for an Onboard Machinist for a 400'+ private, Cayman flagged, yacht with a worldwide itinerary.  This is a 5 month position with the possibility of further employment.

The machinist main work will be repair and construction of machinery parts as for instance but not limited to welding repair in pipe systems, milling/turning fabrication of engineering parts as well as assist with general engineering maintenance.
As an example and normal working day could be:  1: Fabricate a 1 meter 2” flanged pipe section with a teed in 1” pipe and valve. 2: Repair broken deck stainless steel folding rails. 3: Build up material on a corroded ventilation shaft  by welding and turn down the added on material to original diameter.
Most of his time will be occupied with welding, milling and turning jobs so he need to be well experienced in welding in stainless steel, Cunifer and normal steel as well as aluminum meaning  experienced in welding technics  such as MIG, TIG and MAC welding. For turning and milling he should have experience and skill level making him capable of producing engineering parts with tolerances of 1/100mm and using turn and diving tables should be known technics.
This is a skilled position and should only be deployed by a person with a 3-4 year machinist education or a person with proven capabilities in above mentioned.
Pay will be based on previous experience.
